2010 Greensboro Project

Fifty years ago, in Greensboro, North Carolina, the Civil Rights Movement took a leap forward with the lunch counter sit-in movement that helped to end segregation in public places. These sit-ins began with a multiracial group of blacks and whites standing together to end Jim Crow segregation.

In 2010, AWARE-LA will launch the Greensboro Project to carry on this legacy. The project currently includes:
