Volunteer Dialogue is a monthly gathering for white antiracists who are interested in volunteering to support the work of AWARE-LA. Volunteer Dialogue works on the development of the organization of AWARE-LA, whereas Saturday Dialogue focuses on the development of white antiracist individuals and communities.
Regular, recurring dialogues occur monthly throughout the year and throughout Los Angeles, to offer support and connect interested volunteers to the work of AWARE-LA, and local and national work for racial justice, through workgroups including Saturday Dialogue, Active Resistance, Workshop Planning Group. Dialogues involve all-volunteer discussions on organizational direction, as well as breakouts into particular workgroups and committees.
Volunteer Dialogue usually takes place the third weekend of the month, however it is best to check “Events” on the homepage as we try to avoid weekends that coincide with major holidays; and often coordinate the dialogue to support existing antiracist or racial justice events in the Los Angeles area.
