THE TRAGEDY OF HETEROSEXUALITY: A CONVERSATION ON RELATIONSHIPS, SEXISM, AND WHITE SUPREMACTY

Date & Time: Tuesday, August 17th, 4:00pm - 5:00pm PDT
Location: WP4BL Facebook page, here
Details: Join us in exploring the intersection of relationships, sexism, racism and white supremacy. We will cover capitalism’s relationship to heterosexuality, the possibility of “queering” dominant relationship norms, race and power, and the benefits of taking action to end patriarchy from an intersectional feminist lens. We are joined by The Tragedy of Heterosexuality author Jane Ward and activist and movement strategist Chanelle Gallant, hosted by Dahlia Ferlito, activist and co-founder of White People 4 Black Lives.

More about the book: The Tragedy of Heterosexuality explores what is wrong with heterosexuality in the twenty-first century, and what straight people can do to fix it for good. It shows how straight people have tried to mend a fraught patriarchal system in which intimacy, sexual fulfillment, and mutual respect are expected to coexist alongside enduring forms of inequality, alienation, and violence in straight relationships.
