Details: In June 2020, Students Deserve, Black Lives Matter LA, and the Brothers Sons Selves Coalition brought together over 70 organizations and pushed LAUSD to divest $25 million from the LA School Police Department and pledge to reinvest that money into support services for Black students. The fight continues as we push to eliminate the entire school police budget and to reinvest it in supports for Black students. We need everyone to continue to pressure the school board to listen to Black youth and #DefundLASPD + #FundBlackFutures! Submit public comment to the LAUSD School Board at least 24 hours before each meeting.
