SURJ ALTADENA/PASADENA MEETING: ACCOMPLIACES, NOT SAVIORS

Date & Time: Sunday, January 30th, 2:00pm PT
Location: Zoom, join the meeting here
Details: From SURJ Altadena/Pasadena: White supremacy culture often encourages white people to believe that we can "save the day," or that we know best how to do things --- including how to end racial injustice! It encourages us to want to lead rather than follow, to rescue rather than uplift, and to crave gratitude or redemption from people of color for our good deeds. How can we acknowledge and resist these forces? What is white saviorism and why is it so seductive? Join us on January 30th at 2pm as we discuss these topics, as well as what it looks like to follow and amplify BIPOC leadership and to fight for racial justice from a place of mutual care and collective liberation. Bring a friend!
